We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SharePoint Administrator to work within our ITS Data Center Services at our facility in La Jolla/Torrey Pines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the primary Microsoft SharePoint Administrator, this position will be responsible for the architecture, administration, configuration, and monitoring of the environment for a multi-server, service-delivery oriented SharePoint Farm.
Works with business units and other IT staff, including the project management team, to understand business needs in the SharePoint environment, and analyze, design, and implement effective systems solutions.
Creates and executes project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
Maintains the day-to-day operation of the SharePoint and Project Server platform to include diagnosing and tro ubleshooting complex application problems, researching systems environments, client environments, application configurations, and data accuracy, and performing system back-ups.
Manages account and group administration and permissions.
Works with IT management to implement and update related disaster recover procedures.
Communicates, implements, follows, and enforces best practice standards and procedures related to change control, design and coding, and content security within the SharePoint environment.
Develops and maintains associated documentation.
Develops and maintains effective and productive communication with business units and IT staff. Provides guidance and training on SharePoint matters to less experienced staff as needed.
Ensures that high-quality services and solutions meet business and user needs and are delivered on schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field along with ten or more years of experience in systems and application administration. Equivalent professional experience in a corporate Information Technology may be substitute in lieu of education.
Must possess: (1) extensive technical expertise and application of related computer technology, concepts, principles, and theories; (2) ability to organize and schedule the workload to meet established deadlines or milestones; (3) ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately; (4) ability to work both independently and with a team to prioritize and perform assigned tasks; (5) strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees; (6) ability to analyze, design, and execute effective solutions to complex technical problems; (7) ability to accurately document work; (8) ability to work extended hours and travel between Company facilities as required.
Must be a U.S. person to work in secured or export controlled areas.
Experience with project management. PL/SQL and Oracle experience relevant to SharePoint. Experience with Metalogix StoragePoint tool. Previous integration experience with external applications a plus but not required (i.e. SAP, Windchill, Remedy).
