The SHE Supervisor will provide technical expertise and leadership in all matters involving air environmental issues and compliance management for the Washington Works site in West Virginia.

DuPont Washington Works site is one of the leading manufacturers of a variety of products, including coating, paint, pigment and packaging supplies. The company manufactures a range of products, such as polymer adhesives, safety glass products, ethylene copolymers, cleaners, disinfectants, fluorochemicals, lubricants, elastomers, films, sheets and sandblasting materials. Its additional products include combustible cabling materials and wires, crop seeds and inoculants, surfacing materials and installation products, wire insulating and coating materials, flexographic photopolymer plates and sleeves, and printing and proofing products. It also offers warehousing, product distribution, customer support and inventory management services.

This position is part of the Safety, Health and Environmental team and supervises staff to provide analytical, implementation support and/or consulting services to the site. The SHE Supervisor is a critical role that requires a strong competency in Environmental and Air. This is a highly visible position that affords the incumbent exposure to all aspects of Environmental work within the business unit as well as in the company as a whole, and gives the opportunity for ongoing challenge and leadership of the air environmental competency for the entire site.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Develop, implement and maintain Air and Environmental Management Systems, providing leadership guidance to plant programs and procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, local, site, and corporate standards and regulations.

Provide support and leadership during audits of the site by state and federal regulatory agencies;

Interface with state and federal regulatory agencies during audits;

Facilitate testing and auditing scheduling and ensure requisite documentation is maintained; preparing required documentation, scheduling and performing any required testing and providing additional follow-up documentation as required

Participate in investigation of environmental incidents.

Develop and implement practices focused on reducing environmental impacts;

Leverage industry knowledge and technical expertise to mitigate potential risk;

Perform regular field audits and inspections to ensure compliance.

Establish, modify and implement environmental compliance training for operations personnel.

Provide facility personnel with timely guidance on requirements.

BS degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry

At least 5 years of direct working experience in environmental capacity (preferably with a heavy focus in Air).

Working knowledge of state, federal and local environmental regulations and requirements, with demonstrated expertise managing same, specifically for Air.

Previous supervisory experience. (Candidates operating in a lead/senior capacity within a team will also be considered.)

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

Ability to collaborate and network with site, regional and corporate resources.

Experience with anticipating, planning, developing, implementing, auditing, and improving systems and processes in the Air environmental competency and the overall SHE functions.

Industry experience within a chemical manufacturing facility is highly desired.
