Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Duties include packing, counting and verifying quantities match packing list or invoice quantities. Document and communicate discrepancies to appropriate Manager. This position requires an understanding of returning materials in the purchasing process.
Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items outgoing for shipments to verify information against orders or other records.
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Prepare package for shipping using proper packing materials for safe delivery of all packages. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine.
Stamps identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and includes shipping charges, and affixes postage using shipping vendor software online.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Must be able to operate a forklift, and hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
Operate a computerized component level Inventory Control and Shipping/Receiving system;
May perform shipping or receiving activities both;
May receive damaged or defective goods to be returned to establishment and be designated as return goods.
Must be able to use basic mathematics to solve problems.
Employee is required to stand for (70%); walk (15%); and sit (15%) at a time
Employee is frequently required to talk, hear, lift (30 to 100 lbs), carry, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, reach with hands and arms and work in a repetitive paced motion.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Employee must also be able to freely access all areas of the manufacturing department.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
High school diploma required;
Associates degree preferred;
Proficient in database entry;
Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
Good written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to deal with customer service issues;
Must be able to take detailed and concise notes;
Microsoft Office experience, Excel is a plus;
Must have at least two years experience in data entry, accounting, inventory control, or related administrative field for this position.
