Duties of this position involve Research/Data Collection & Analysis, Clinical/Patient Care, and Administration as follows:
This is a time-limited vacancy.
- Research/Data Collection & Analysis: Running all aspects of assigned research program, including collecting data from patients and medical reports, recording study data as prescribed by study protocol, exhibiting the highest ethics with regard to data collection, maintaining patient enrollment logs and files, analysis of data to determine eligibility of patients to enroll and participate in the study, use of online programs to record data, and hosting site visits by study sponsor. Also includes recruitment of subjects for participation in research study, including telephone screening, preparation of written materials for review by research subjects, screening clinic patients, maintaining IRB guidelines, and monitoring enrollment goals; preparation for all audits; and attending and participating in all research meetings.
- Clinical/Patient Care: Performing procedures required by study protocol, such as obtaining vital signs. Patient education, including education about study participation and the expectations of participants (federal regulations, safety precautions), education about study protocol including risks involved, telephone follow-up with patients, following OSHA and HIPPA guidelines in all situations, and providing communicative access to study patients for questions pertaining to the study. All medically indicated patient questions will be forwarded to the Principle Investigator.
- Administration: Assisting the Principle Investigator in management of financial planning of research project; utilizing internal and external resources for development of study; developing, implementing, and evaluating research activities in conjunction with the Data Coordinating Center for the project; and corresponding with sponsor, UMCIRB, the Data Coordinating Center, and other research sites.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
