Working under general supervision and following established procedures, this position conducts software inspection, testing, verification, and validation. Reviews software design and change specifications to ensure software testing measures meet acceptable reliability standards and project and program objectives. Develops, modifies, and executes software testing plans. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software and analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with developers to resolve issues and provides feedback for the technical appraisal of the tested software program(s) and monitors its deployment across the appropriate system(s). Contributes to the analysis and development of test standards and procedures for software development and maintenance and participates in the development of software quality testing, and operating methods and processes.

Essential Functions

Reviews software design and change specifications and determines requirements and specifications for software inspection, testing, verification, and/or validation.

Develops, modifies and executes software testing plans for assigned software.

Conducts software inspections, testing, verification, and validation of assigned software.

Documents tests and assists in debugging and modification of software.

Consults with developers to resolve issues.

Provides feedback for the technical appraisal of tested software to ensure successful deployment.

Contributes to the development/updating of test standards and procedures software development and software testing.

Must have complete understanding of software quality analysis concepts, theory, and operations and experience demonstrating those skills

Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Typically requires a bachelors, or masters degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline and minimum software development experience as follows; two or more years with a BS and at least six months with an MS. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

Must have a conceptual understanding of software development concepts, theory, and operations.

Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Customer focused, assists in long-term trend and emerging requirement analysis, with a basic understanding of enterprise-wide software.

Must be able to work both independently and on a team.

Able to work extended hours as required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance is required.

Two years experience of professional software testing is desirable.

An active DOD Security Clearance is desirable.
