As part of transforming our global back office, Abbott has created a new organization in Finance, which is focused on building a more effective, streamlined and universal approach to serving our global businesses. Finance Operations is a newly created division and includes the Affiliate Finance organizations of the former PPD-hosted Affiliates which remain with Abbott upon separation as well as similar organizations in our China and India Affiliates. Finance Operations is also responsible for managing the relationship between Abbott and our third-party business process provider as well as managing the global end to end business processes in key financial functional areas including management of the retained Abbott organization.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the financial reporting and financial planning functions of this organization and will report to the Manager, Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for consolidating the Plan/LBE/LRP, preparing management reports as well as accounting and financial reporting activities in HFM and Symphony.

Finance Operations operates in over 60 countries, including the US, with responsibility for approximately 1,500 US and Ex-US staff, a gross budget of over $350MM, divisional allocations and TSAs with AbbVie.

The position offers an opportunity to be part of a global organization that is a strategic initiative of the new Abbott. The position will have significant interaction with overseas affiliates, Corporate Financial Reporting, Corporate FP&A and Finance Operations management.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
In conjunction with the Manager FPR&A, the position is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis for the Finance Operations Division .

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the consolidation and reporting of affiliate/area monthly actual results (in HFM) along with preparation of Flash & Supplemental package.

Responsible for ensuring all planning and reporting systems include the Affiliate and US Cost Center Plans/LBEs/etc and reconciles to supporting planning files.

Responsible for submitting Plan/LBE/LRP files to CFP&A and CFR.

Facilitate Headcount reporting and analysis with Affiliates and US cost centers including loading FDM. Candidates need to have a working knowledge of Essbase and Smartview to accomplish this.

Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated reports.

Complete month-end close responsibilities for US Symphony Cost Centers. Specific responsibilities include preparing Journal Entries, providing commentary vs. benchmarks for P&L and Investment Responsibility and preparing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations

Prepare and distribute monthly reporting package (Actuals vs. Benchmarks) to Finance Operations management as well as ad hoc financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance

At least 3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning/Analysis/Departmental Budgets or Reporting.

Advanced Excel skills

Can handle/analyze large volumes of data

Aptitude for continuous learning and ability to communicate with all levels of management

Working knowledge of HFM, Symphony, Essbase and Smartview

A detail oriented and organized team player with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

Ability to supervise an FPDP and/or Intern.

Requires strong oral and written communication skills with ability to adjust style depending on the audience.

Proven ability to deliver on commitments in a challenging, fast-paced and diverse environment.

Self motivated and takes initiative to solve problems and improve processes.

Significant Work Activities and Conditions
