POSITION PURPOSE -

We are seeking world-class talent looking to build a career with the world's largest home improvement retailer, operating more than 2,200 store locations in the U.S, Canada and Mexico. Specifically, your role on our store systems team will put you at the center of our $70 B business and on the cutting edge of next generation retailing. You will be exposed to the latest application technologies including HTML5, JQuery, JSON services and Oracle Exadata - all at enterprise scale. You will also be working on next generation Windows 8 platforms including the latest enterprise mobile devices and customer facing technologies such as kiosks. You will work with IT teams and business partners to understand strategic initiatives as well as deliver leading-edge capabilities that support Home Depot's retail business. You will apply advanced problem-solving techniques and coordinate with other core team members to resolve system issues, maintain complex business logic and identify and implement innovative solutions.

The Senior Developer will have responsibility and accountability for leading the technical delivery of projects for the In Aisle Team, driving all aspects of the project from design through delivery to production. The Senior Developer has expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. This person must have an excellent understanding of the IT project life cycle, trends in the IT landscape and be able to influence IT leadership on streamlining those processes. The Lead Developer has the ability to guide and direct project teams in requirements definition, design, development and testing of complex applications/ programs. This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Lead Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design, and ensure highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. The Lead Developer will lead multiple team members and assist other technical leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. The successful candidate for this position has displayed a developed, strategic view of applications and how they fit into the overall business solution being built.

The Sr. Developer has proficient knowledge of multiple programming languages along with the ability to take business requirements and develop the total technical design for an entire application to be run in production. The Sr. Developer has the ability to lay out requirements for the project team. Ability to guide and direct work on multiple projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Thorough understanding of life cycle development through production implementation and post implementation. The Sr. Developer has the ability to present at the various architecture review boards. Display strategic view of applications and how they fit into the whole retail space.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.

Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.

Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.

Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.

Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Store Systems Retail Experience
Retail Customer Service Experience
Mobile Software Experience
5-7 years related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Ability to communicate issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner to Management.

Strong decision making abilities.

Experience developing new application systems for production.
