Provide training to SWA Employees, On-Call Maintenance Providers and Airframe Substantial Maintenance Providers/Designees in accordance with the Maintenance Procedures Manual (MPM).

Design, develop, implement and revise training curriculums emphasizing system operation and troubleshooting procedures to reduce non confirmed component failures.

Design, develop, and implement special training curriculums to provide authorization of AMTs for critical aircraft maintenance functions.

Develop and operate computer based training courseware.

Provide training required by governmental regulations (i.e. FAA, OSHA, and EPA).

Provide assistance with aircraft troubleshooting/act as a technical liaison to internal departmentsor Governmental agencies.

Provides needs assessment and analysis to provide training solutions to operational problems.

Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.

Minimum Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate, required.

College degree, preferred.


Minimum 8 years in commercial aviation industry, 5 years hands-on commercial aircraft maintenance or 5 years Boeing 737 instructional design/courseware development and technical instruction experience, required.


FAA Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate, required.


Must be able to stand and publically speak up to 6 hours per day.

Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Must be able to access all sections of the aircraft via stands and ladders.


Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

Must be able to instruct on all aircraft systems and aircraft maintenance related subjects.

Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Must be able to read and interpret complex technical manuals, logic diagrams, and schematics.

Must have strong written and verbal skills and ability to speak in a classroom situation.

Must be able to operate visual aids such as audio/video equipment and training simulators.

Knowledge of Windows based PC software, required.

Knowledge of CBT courseware design software, preferred.

Knowledge of Wizard or MaxiMerlin mainframe computer system, preferred.


Must be willing to travel extensively for long periods of time, frequently.

Must be willing to work variable days/shifts, frequently.

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance.
