Responsible for implementation and maintenance of all quality assurance and food safety practices to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Country, Company and customer policies, standards, guidelines and laws, at all LBP Manufacturing facilities worldwide. |
Leads the development and execution of customer quality/food safety programs, systems and audit requirements to proactively meet customer quality expectations.
Responsible for ongoing monitoring of customer portals/websites and for timely response to customer requirements as they pertain to these sites (ie, quality data entry, complaint response, quality system metrics and self-assessments, etc.).
Ensures effective food safety and quality training for plant employees and quality assurance staff.
Ensures that products and procedures conform to LBP and customer requirements. Assures efficient and accurate testing, reporting, and monitoring of product safety and quality.
Manages and oversees QA departments at Cicero and Chicago locations. Assists with QA support and projects at our international operations on an as-needed basis.
Supports and leads internal plant quality and food safety issues including, but not limited to, root cause investigation and corrective actions, problem resolutions, material dispositioning, and auditing.
Acts as a quality liaison between LBP departments and/or the customer and suppliers. Facilitates the resolution of complex quality issues including customer complaints and issues at vendors.
Develops customer communications in order to establish and maintain effective and trusting business relationships with customers at all levels.
Responsible for leading the plants preparation for customer and third party audits, for reporting deficiencies to upper management, and for leading appropriate corrective action in response to audit findings. Includes ASI, Cook & Thurber and other QA and HACCP/food safety audits.
Assists Director of Plant Operations with implementation of BRC at both US plants.
Performs internal and supplier audits as required by the companys quality system.
Leads development and implementation of plant GMP, Hygiene and Sanitation programs.
Conducts mock or actual product recalls, as required. Reports findings to upper management and recommends/implements corrective action when appropriate.
Controls and maintains documentation as required by our customers and auditors.
Utilizes quality and statistical tools to analyze trends and establish process for the purpose of continuous improvement.
Responsible for the control and release of withheld and retained product.
Others responsibilities as required.
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Engineering, Quality or similar technical field required.
Minimum 10 years QA/QC experience in food packing or food manufacturing industry required. Formal HACCP and/or food safety training or certification required. BRC and ASI experience also preferred.
Experience effectively collaborating across levels and functions within own organization and with outside customers, vendors and auditors required.
Strong communication, relationship and team-building skills required.
Data analysis and problem solving experience required. Strong statistical knowledge and education required.
ASQC Quality certification preferred (CQM, CQE, CQA).
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% required (usually international)
Must possess creative/analytical problem solving skills and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.
Must have solid computer skills in Microsoft office skills such as PowerPoint, Project Manager, Excel and Word.
