This is a Fulltime position.
Bachelor’s level and one year service or High school diploma and 5 years’ experience.
Direct support experience with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and mental health populations preferred.
Experience with crisis prevention and intervention services preferred
Maintain valid license and insurance for personal vehicles utilized for work;
Complete within specified time period the trainings as required by agency and service model.
One year crisis experience with ID/MH/DD/SA population is required.
The START Respite Counselor provides support to persons with co-occurring developmental disabilities and mental or behavioral health needs who are temporarily accessing crisis or planned respite within the START respite home.
This staff member participates in the daily routine of the home and provides support for habilitative activities, personal care, health care and other activities.
The START Respite Counselor participates as a part of comprehensive START services that collaborate with the individual’s primary provider and clinical home, community crisis services, family and others.
