Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director, the Program Coordinator for Student Activities & Greek Affairs (SAGA) works primarily with registered student organizations (RSO). This position will be responsible for the leadership development of student organizations, advisor outreach and development and advisor and RSO recognition. The coordinator will advise the Campus Activities Network (CAN). The coordinator will also be responsible for the planning and execution of Loyola University Chicago's Welcome Week program in partnership with the RSO Coordinator for Programming. This is an entry level position. - Support and assist all registered student organizations with department processes and procedures, event details and overall organization management to ensure department learning outcomes are met. - Support and assist RSO advisors: edit and update advisor materials, create and coordinate advisor workshops, create and coordinate advisor recognition program and conduct annual advisor audit. - Advise the USGA CSO and CAN Board and coordinate Campus Activities Network (CAN) meetings. - Manage the Sponsored Student Organization (SSO) outreach to ensure an active registration process. - Create and implement an annual RSO Leadership Summit with an emphasis on organization transition in partnership with other divisional departments. - Manage the review, acceptance and orientation of new student organizations. - Develop and facilitate a workshop series for RSOs that include: transitions guidance, Orgsync training, programming and organization management. - Support the RSO Graduate Assistant with the content development of the RSO Newsletter. - Create and implement an RSO recognition and awards database to track RSO national, regional and University highlights. - Represent SAGA on the Leadership Advisory Board. - Act as departmental liaison between the departments of Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs and Student Leadership. - Co-coordinate the Welcome Week program; weeklong series of events to welcome students, new and returning, at the beginning of each academic year. - Attend student organization or department events as assigned - Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education or Experience
Bachelor's degree and two to three years of related experience required.
Certificates, credentials or licenses required to perform the duties of this position:
Proficient computer skills and ability to use MS Office Suite.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Master's degree and two years in student affairs/student development or related work experience preferred -Advising experience strongly preferred. -Experience in program and event management preferred. -Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, outstanding communication and attention to detail. - Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity and social justice issues -An understanding of and appreciation for Jesuit higher To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
