The Analytical and Incoming Acceptance Supervisor is responsible for managing the operation of the QA Analytical and Incoming Acceptance Laboratories. The Supervisor will have responsibility for 4 Chemists/Technicians who will perform raw ingredient, in-process product, and finished product Analytical testing in an aseptic filling operation. The group management functions will include safety, compliance, training, performance, and continuous improvement.
NOTE: This position is for a start-up facility. The role will include a significant level of new lab activities such as instrument validation, hiring employees, training, designing site procedures, supporting production equipment start-up, and cross functional support within the QA lab group.
The Supervisor will become an owner of the Plant’s corrective action/preventative action process (relating to nutrient or commodity events). The person will also act a technical resource for the site on analytical methodology, instrumentation, and processes.
The role will require frequent communication with lab group, Plant management, Division support groups, and suppliers. The Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining consumable inventory levels and for managing execution of the group budget
The position requires technical knowledge related to analytical test methods, statistical sampling, food product formulation, as well as general knowledge of food production nutrient regulation (FDA).
Needed PC skills include use of Laboratory Information Management software, statistical evaluation, data spreadsheets, instrumentation control software, and preparing reports/presentations.
This position requires group management skills including communication, team development, driving for results, and setting a leadership example. Individual skills will include anticipating customer needs, process innovation, and making short and long range operational decisions that best affect the business.
Bachelors Degree in Technical/Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or related area is required.
