Responsible for credit approval and credit risk for the following business lines: Commercial Banking (inclusive of Private Banking, Business Banking and SBA).
Exercise loan authority individually within delegated authority and in concert with the Commercial Risk Committee to extend appropriate financing solutions to customers in the target markets according to underwriting guidelines.
The Credit Approval Officer may take on customer-facing responsibilities in obtaining background and financial information.
Responsible for developing portfolio strategy along with the LOB.
Responsible for assessment, evaluation, and review to assure that all approvals are in conformance with Credit Approval Policy requirements.
Assist in development and implementation of credit policy and procedures.
Develop/maintain process to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
Mentor the Credit Underwriting Teams
Develop asset quality performance metrics and monitor portfolio performance for compliance.
As appropriate, facilitate the transfer of management for distressed assets to SAG.
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
15+ years related experience in commercial credit risk, credit decision and underwriting with approval signature authority.
Experienced in evaluating complex commercial transactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
