Responsibilities:
Provides professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of health and safety programs. Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of health and safety programs to assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies.
Safety and Health
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local
legislation and codes governing health and safety.
Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
Interfaces with regulatory agencies, committee members and company
staff to formulate corrective actions.
Conducts various safety and health training for all levels of employees and management.
Ensures corrective action follow-up is completed.
Develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and
recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
Conducts on-site safety reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
Monitors all current information on regulations and requirements related to hazardous
materials and agents.
Directs industrial hygiene, occupational, and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment which complies with safety standards.
Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations.
Complete draft safety policy, performance dashboard, appropriate procedures and identifying benchmarks
Work with management to coordinate and support facility-based safety committees
Review implementation of behavioral-based safety program at all facilities
Other Functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
Attends conferences, meeting, and workshops to keep up-to-date
on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations
or to maintain required level of certification.
Environmental Reporting Responsibilities
Assist with environmental reporting for all facilities in conjunction with outside consultants and company personnel.
Assist with environmental permit applications and permit revisions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied or Basic Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
CPCU, ARM, or CSP designation preferred
Five years in occupational health, safety and health management
Behavioral safety program experience preferred
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Computer skills in Windows environment, working knowledge of Word, Excel, and on-line data base systems
