The role is the successful candidate will be to plan, implement, and coordinate facility efforts in environment, health and safety. To ensure compliance with Government regulations and Temple-Inland policies in a way that leads to a safe and injury-free work environment.
Application of engineering principles and technology to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions
Promote, maintain and implement systems of accountability for excellence in the areas of safety and employee engagement.
Develop and drive initiatives to increase safety awareness program effectiveness, in order to consistently meet the plant¿s safety goals.
Strong human relations skills and Project Management skills are a plus.
A Bachelor¿s degree in Safety and/or Environmental Sciences or Engineering is required along with 3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting or equivalent experience. Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of Federal and State OSHA requirements as well as a strong working knowledge of industrial plant safety programs. Some exposure to Environmental reporting requirements will be beneficial. Applicants must possess excellent organizational skills, be proficient in both written and verbal communications, and be highly proficient in computer skills, especially MS Office.
