The Sales Engineer will manage "House Accounts" with appropriate due diligence for assigned territory. The role of the Sales Engineer will also be to: prospect new accounts including making cold calls on a routine basis, pursue adjacent opportunities of marketplace opportunities, provide meaningful and timely input on marketing plans and assessments, and to follow up and develop potential opportunities from marketing plans.
Lead the project management internal to ITI.
Participate in the cross functional team internal to ITI.
Responsible to ensure technical understanding of Contract / Purchase Order (typically fixed pricing) has appropriate representation and signoff internal to ITI. No surprises during or after the sale. Do not submit quotation without appropriate review and internal approvals. Provide adequate "lead time" for review internally and allow for changes yet complying with quotation deadlines.
Primary escalation point internal ITI for issues and concerns. Sufficient understanding and knowledge to communicate to all parties internal to ITI and with customer contact points (typically engineers)
Accountable for Customer Relationship Management Process
Qualify the customer and each opportunity - need and budget
Manage a budgetary quote differently than final quote (must be detailed enough for fixed pricing)
Understand and provide "alternatives" to the customer
Positive influence in account with integrity
Communication of any schedule or pricing changes to Customer
Owns all Contract changes with the customer (change control process)
Must have an in-depth understanding of machining processes and the machines required for the application
Have the capability to evaluate customers application and develop a preliminary concept to qualify the project with the customer
Work with ITI mechanical and application engineers to develop a customer quotation/proposal (typically fixed price)
Experience selling Non-Standard engineered machining systems is preferred
Travel, as necessary, is not extensive.
Bachelor's or Technical degree in Manufactured Engineering, Machine Technology or Tool and Die with a minimum of 5 years practical experience in the machining industry.
