Sales Engineers are expected to be the primary technical resource for the Sales Account Managers. You will be responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our Wholesale and Enterprise products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.


Provide Sales technical support by attending customer meetings to determine technical requirements

Design cost-effective network solutions based on customer’s technical requirements

Assist Sales Account Managers in the preparation and presentation of network solutions to customers

Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs

Work with Sales Account Managers to ensure design strategies and pricing are competitive

Able to travel throughout sales territory when necessary.


Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in telecommunication sales and knowledge of Ethernet, IP, SONET/SDH and WDM technology. Certifications such as Cisco CCNA or equivalent are helpful. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting network solutions. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Must be prepared for to travel when necessary.

3-5+ years relevant experience in Telecommunications sales and engineering

Experience and familiarity with Enterprise and Wholesale products and line of business a plus

B.S. in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred
