The Sales Manager oversees new and existing corporate and group business sales in his or her assigned market segment, ensuring that corporate, group, and meeting room revenue meets or exceeds individual goals and falls within the hotel's budget. He or she reserves and manages on-site meeting spaces, negotiates and completes contracts and proposals, conducts hotel site tours, and makes on site and off site presentations to prospective clients and to the local community.
The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualifications:
A one-year certificate from a college or technical school
Three to six months related hotel experience (such as front desk, hotel guest services, sales, or sales management) and/or training
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
He or she has strong presentation skills with high customer service expectations, is good with numbers, and has a valid driver's license. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
