The Sales Representative's role is to contact established accounts to increase sales of products. The representative will complete this by explaining products features and benefits to customers primarily over the phone.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works closely with customers to gain distribution and promote new and existing products
Corresponds regularly with client and customers via phone, e-mail, and fax
Prepares a recap of monthly sales results and successes
Takes customers orders
Works with Customer Service Representatives regarding returns and order maintenance
Analyzes customer base and recognizes opportunities
Keeps current of industry trends and competitive products
Provides back-up and support to other team members
Meets and exceeds established sales goals
Identifies opportunities for usage of products and recommends specific items to provide resolution to current customer needs
Travel as required. In order to meet the travel requirements, must have a personal credit card and an available credit limit for expenses which are reimbursed.
This position has no leadership responsibilities.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. This individual should have strong i nterpersonal and oral communication skills; strong computer skills; excellent call quality; the ability to establish and maintain consultative relationship with professional customers; a proven track record of reliability; be highly self-motivated with the ability to meet call standards and volume requirements. Must have the ability to travel as necessary and a personal credit card with an available credit limit for expenses which are reimbursed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent degree (GED, HSED) required. Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred. One plus years of sales experience preferred.
TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE
This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes: Windows, PowerPoint, Advanced Word and Excel, SAP, along with Client designated software. Also, this individual must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by Client and Alta Resources.
