Position Overview
The San Francisco Teacher Residency ( is seeking a dynamic
administrator and teacher educator to serve as the Program Administrator. Now in it its third year, the
San Francisco Teacher Residency (SFTR) is a unique partnership between San Francisco Unified School
District (SFUSD), University of San Francisco (USF), Stanford University, and the United Educators of San
Francisco (UESF) that aims to recruit, prepare, and retain teachers who are able to improve equity and
achievement for historically underserved students in San Francisco’s highest-needs schools and subjects.
The Program Administrator has a special responsibility to maintain the bonds that keep this partnership
functioning at a high level. SFTR provides a rigorous yet expedited route into the classroom for highly
qualified individuals and focuses on recruiting diverse candidates into the teaching profession.
The SFTR Program Administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration, management, and
fieldwork components of the program as well as building and sustaining high-functioning relationships
with each partner organization. The Program Administrator will report to the Deputy Superintendent of
Instruction, Innovation, and Social Justice or his designee and the SFTR Advisory Board.
