Temporary, part-time online instruction in School Library & Information Technology. Course offerings are contingent upon sufficient enrollment.
Minimum requirements: A master’s degree in Library Science and teacher certification; experience with distance education; current or substantial school library experience; and completion of a successful interview. Additional qualifications: active participation in state and/or national professional school library associations; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); and the ability to teach, evaluate, and advise students. Demonstration, through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Other conditions of employment are verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts and an acceptable background check report.
Effective teaching and advising, continued scholarly growth, and service to the department, university, and community. Effective communication and use of electronic teaching technology. Work cooperatively with staff, faculty and administration. Ability to use software application programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and effective use of phone, keyboard and other office equipment. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, etc.
Temporary, part-time positions for the 2013/14 academic year; Instructor rank. Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
