School Treasurer, Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School
NEOMED - Rootstown, OH
Maintain all financial records, financial reporting to the Board of Directors and State of Ohio. Participate in the design and development of the policies and procedures of the STEM school. Backup to EMIS Coordinator.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
1) Assist the University Controller and Bio-Med Board of Directors with compliance requirements, fiscal policies and decisions. Responsible for preparing all financial reporting for Bio-Med Science Academy to State of Ohio and Board of Directors. Present financial report monthly at Board of Directors meeting.

2) Manage and participate in maintenance and retention of all STEM school accounting records. Ensure that fiscal operations and reporting are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, promulgated by Governmental Accounting Standards Board, Federal and State statutory requirements and/or specific policies and procedures mandated by the Board of Directors. Serve as financial liaison to the Board of Directors.

3) Pursue payment for all outstanding receivables. Investigate new revenue streams (i.e. grants) and maximize revenues by updating course descriptions. Serve as lead person for school grant writing opportunities and grant compliance monitoring. Act as backup for EMIS administration (main revenue source for school).

4) Approve all purchase orders and expenses prior to purchasing and approve payments. Implement and monitor internal controls for the cash handling for all school employees and/or volunteers.
5) Maintain the inventory control of all STEM school assets and classroom teaching supplies.
6) Implement and monitor internal controls for the cash handling for all school employees and/or volunteers and work closely with Chief Administrative Officer and office staff on all fiscal matters.
7) Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting or business. School Treasurer’s License required.
Experience: Three or more years of experience in a public school treasurer’s office. Prior USAS reporting experience required and EMIS reporting preferred.
