Independently designs research projects, prepares project outlines, and tracks project progress against milestones, deadlines, as well as project costs and risk development.
Actively carries out experiments, either independently or as part of a matrix team, performs data analysis, and develops concise summaries with conclusions and recommendations.
Supervises, mentors, and trains Research Associates with the objective to achieve project goals according to timelines and product specifications.
Constantly expands skill set and enhances knowledge related to cell biology and cell culture by keeping up with the literature, interacting with fellow scientists, and attending scientific conferences.
Establishes an excellent working relationship and open communication with colleagues across departments such as R&D, Business Development, and Marketing, and Operations, and across sites.
Presents project progress and outcomes at group and department meetings. Prepares and delivers professional presentations at national and international scientific conferences.
Ph.D. in a life science discipline with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with primary and/or stem cell culture.
Extensive working knowledge of freezing/thawing, culturing, characterizing, and differentiating human cells is essential.
Knowledge and expertise in advanced culture methodology, including 3D/organotypic in-vitro models, on the background of cell-based assays and novel cell culture models.
Broad cell biology laboratory hands-on skill set, including flow cytometry, real-time PCR, and immunofluorescence staining.
Must be able to independently develop and assess new ideas, design project plans, and execute projects as part of a matrix team.
Willing to contribute to projects outside the group’s scope where expertise and support are required.
Comfortable with working on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Previous supervisory experience with strong team leadership is a plus.
