The Second Mortgage Processor/Closer is responsible for the timely and accurate completion and review of applications. In addition, this employee will process, close and disburse home equity loans and lines of credit. TheSecond Mortgage Processor/Closer is also responsible for maintaining effective and timely communication with the appropriate internal and external parties associated with the loan(s) to ensure coordination and exchange of information.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Processsecond mortgage files by gathering necessary documents from applicants.
Review and analyze documents from borrower to ensure they meet requirements and submit to underwriting for approval.
Contact members to schedule loan closings.
Complete loan closing documents and transmit to branches for closing.
Review returned loan packages for accuracy.
Disburse loans in DataSafe.
Provide withdrawn or rejected loan files to Mortgage Servicing for HMDA reporting.
Perform additional support as requested for testing new products and documents, updating records on prior loans, installations of new software, etc.
Interact with both members and FORUM personnel regarding status of home equity applications.
Abide by dress code policy as outlined in Employee Handbook.
Work effectively as a team member, participating actively and constructively. Display a professional manner in dealing with supervisors, co workers, members, and others inside and outside the credit union.
Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and follow credit union rules governing attendance.
Must be regularly available and willing to work such hours per day or per week as employer determines necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

Perform additional duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
2+ years" experience in the Mortgage Industry preferred
Knowledge of banking principles and general knowledge of mortgage company"s products, services, policies, and procedures
Possess a complete understanding of various mortgage servicing systems
Ability to calculate income and debt based on FCU guidelines
High level of customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong business acumen
Strong problem solving skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office software)
