Position Description

Secure Laptop Engineer Windows 7 / Android Platforms SME

We are seeking a Secure Laptop Platform Engineer experienced in secure laptop / desktop solutions with a strong knowledge of Multi-Level Security (MLS) and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) concepts. This engineer will perform in the capacity of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows 7 and Android platforms and integration with mobile security solutions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Architect scalable virtualized platforms (both desktop and server)
  • Secure network devices to include modems, routers, and switches
  • Build and maintain secure configurations in Windows 7
  • Writing scripts to automate activities that leverage Window 7 functions and features
  • Enable capabilities created in the Secure Laptop environment on Android based cell phones and tablets
  • Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network security, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
  • Provide higher tier trouble shooting and issue resolution when problems are escalated

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with 5+ years in solution architecture/design, integration, deployment, and operations
  • Experience with Windows 7 engineering, scripting, and support
  • Experience with the secure configuration of Windows 7
  • Experience with Android and its capabilities
  • Demonstrate the understanding of the locations and uses of the various Windows 7 configuration files
  • Experience in and knowledge of the latest advances in virtualization methodologies
  • Experience with configuration tools, including but not limited to: Group Policy Object, Active Directory, Domain Name System, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and virtual end-user configurations
  • Knowledge of Network and Server Configuration issues related to firewall, router, switch, inter-host communications including but not limited to Windows Servers, Terminal Servers, Exchange, Active Directory, iSCSI SANs, enterprise NAS / DAS Devices and server virtualization
  • Knowledge of Office Suite Productivity software to include Microsoft Office, Exchange, Communicator, Project and Visio; Corel WordPerfect; Entire Connection 3270 emulation; virus and spyware protection; media players, documentation readers; and other legacy and emerging software products
