Job Description:
Secure Mission Solutions has an immediate need for a
Security Engineer. The Senior Security Engineer will be
responsible for developing an approach to achieve
information assurance, certification and accreditation
for projects within the SPAWAR MHS Enterprise and
ensuring Information Assurance (IA) is built-in to all
technical solutions.
Candidate is expected to cover technical information
security aspects including, but not limited to,
identifying risks, providing mitigation plan of action,
configuration of devices in accordance with STIG
settings, analysis of system design, assist with
certification and accreditation to ensure the system
will receive an ATO, and develop custom mitigation
solutions for enterprise vulnerabilities.

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the DoD and Federal
Certification and Accreditation of sites and systems and
the ability to identify issues with validating automated
detection tool findings.
  • Knowledge of the DIACAP and 800-37 IA controls and
  • Knowledge of DoD STIGs and their application to an
enclave’s security posture, particularly with regards to
the C&A process
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth and other information
security and assurance principles and associated
supporting technologies
  • System troubleshooting and configuration management of
XP/Windows7/2003/2008 OS as it relates to security
posture of the system.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
