DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Shift Supervisor shall oversee the operation of the Security Department on assigned shifts, and be responsible for the training, scheduling, and evaluation Security Department personnel.

DUTIES

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality customer service to all guests, employees, departments and vendors.
  • Ensure correct issuance of temporary badges for vendors and visitors.
  • Monitor all radio communication, and ensure that all phases of security are enforced throughout the facility.
  • Review logs and reports to confirm proper documentation.
  • Maintain proper safety procedures.
  • Conduct investigations of incidents that occur on property, and follow up with written documentation, or verbal reports as necessary, i.e. court appearances, depositions, etc.
  • Ensure enforcement of all laws, Soboba Casino policies and procedures, Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission regulations, and internal controls.
  • Assist the Security Shift Manager in the formation of annual shift goals and objectives.
  • Supervise 20-30 subordinate officers.
  • Maintain direction, coordination, and evaluation of the personnel on assigned shifts.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise personnel performance; reward and discipline employees as necessary and useful
  • Address and resolve employee concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
  • Negative results on all drug and alcohol tests
  • Clean and valid California Driver License
  • BSIS Security Guard Card or Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) License
Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum two years security or law enforcement experience
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to promote a positive and professional image
  • Casino experience preferred
Any education beyond the minimum requirement, as well as any experience and training that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary, shall be considered.
