Position Description:

Position is contingent upon award of contract.

Interested candidates must currently hold a TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly in order to be considered.

The Security Systems Technician will be expected to operate, maintain, configure, repair, install, upgrade, and retrofit electronic security systems. They are expected to have extensive knowledge of electronic physical security system to included but not limited to microwave communications links; IDS with infrared sensors, fiber-sense, buried cable sensors, proximity sensors, closed-circuit television systems with PTZ, LIRTI, WISTI, and a variety of long range cameras; access control systems with various head-end systems, door strikes, badge-swaps with and without key pads, turn styles ECPs, request-to-exit, and duress alarms. They must be experience with advanced video switching systems, video archiving equipment, including how they are operated, maintained, replaced, and configured.
Candidates will be responsible for problem resolution of issues associated with the installation, maintenance, testing evaluation and operation of all of the associated security system equipment. Candidates will serve as the company’s technical representative exercising a high degree of tact, diplomacy and judgment, conforming to policy directions with a minimum of supervision. Additionally, the candidate may be assigned to direct and coordinate the activities of other technicians and operators; assists in the planning of tests to evaluate equipment performance; determine test requirements and procedures; conduct tests of installed system/equipment using various types of instruments; analyze results and modifies equipment or installation to improve performance; construct major units of equipment, devices, or prototype models; troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment; and redesign as necessary. The successful candidate will be required to analyze the task at hand by reviewing the site security plan, specifications, and specific requirements as they apply to the facility or assigned project. The Security Systems Technician is responsible implementing minor modification to the security system as directed by facility leadership and therefore is expected to have knowledge of the security requirement, systems, equipment, and sensors used; must have be able to configure all elements of the system to assure the system integrity and protection level maintained at all time. The candidate is expected to plan, execute, and direct functions involved in the field installation, testing, and integration of systems and subsystems equipment; investigates and makes decisions relative to significant problems in equipment performance; identify and resolve complex problems involving technical issues; report all problems in accordance with established procedures.

The Security Systems Technician may be expected to travel on short notice to a variety of CONSU and OCONUS locations. Required to have and maintain relevant certifications and to keep technical skills current. Current LENEL Certification is a plus

Basic Qualifications:
Associate Engineer 4:
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or military technical training program, or completion of technical institute program and 6 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of related experience.

Associate Engineer 5:
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or military technical training program, or completion of technical institute program and 8 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 12 years of related experience.
