in the Controllers department of Marsh & McLennan Companies Corporate, you will be responsible for
Prepares/reviews journal entries and consolidated statements
Analyzes and maintains general ledger accounts, and develops and analyzes various corporate accounting reports.
Prepares and analyzes expense reports.
Performs various financial reporting tasks, coordinates revenue and expense accruals, and ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly or quarterly close.
Maintains knowledge of budgets, financial statements, and reports.
Follows company accounting policies and approval procedures
Trains new Staff Accountants.
Verifies the work of and provides guidance to Staff Accountants.
Covers for absent staff.
Prepares consolidated reports utilizing individual office information.
Performs special projects, as required
Minimum of two years of an Accountant in a FC or comparable environment.
Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent.
Expert personal computer skills in company-sanctioned software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practice.
Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to train new staff effectively
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of profit center management.
May be required to travel occasionally.
