Recap:

This position will be exposed to all aspects of accounting and reporting for approximately half of the investment units managed by the International headquarter group including the recording of transactions related to Tax Restructuring activities. This position is also responsible for the payment of liabilities owed to the client affiliates participating in the BMG process. This position will own a variety of intercompany reconciliations between the US headquarter units and foreign affiliates including researching out of balances that occur at the Consolidated Company level. This position will be responsible for supervising one individual who owns the intercompany reconciliations for EU affiliates and the new ICR matching process between International Headquarters and the foreign affiliates.

Description of Job and Responsibilities:

• Execute all month-end close activities for multiple investment units

• Own the payment process (BMG netting) for the client Global and the client Canada entities

• Support tax restructuring activities by recording of the transactions to the ledger and doing post entry tie-outs

• Complete year-end reporting (International Tax Questionairres) associated with investment units

• Perform intercompany account reconciliations between headquarters and the AP affiliates

• Host quarterly meetings with the AP region to review and resolve intercompany issues that impact payments

• Perform Intercompany Matching in new ICR tool and help identify additional matching rules to improve the auto match percentage

Key skills: Understanding of GAAP, accounting for investments, capital surplus. Also experience with intercompany activities as this contractor does both receivable/payable reconciliations and Intercompany loans (recording interest, reconciling balances to affiliates and supporting systems).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (MBA/CPA preferred)

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Accounting

• Possess critical thinking skills, quantitative and analytical problem solving skills

• Shows initiative and has sound decision making skills

• Strong communication skills (written and oral)

• Strong organizational and priority setting skills

• Experienced in SAP and Hyperion (HFM)

• Strong Excel skills including advanced functions; easily able to learn new systems
