Position Summary: Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Conducts weapons loading, storage and transport. Senior Mechanic to repair and modify aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, landing gear, fuel systems and mechanical components. Detailed knowledge of UAS unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment.
Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. Provides professional guidance, training and technical expertise to lower level Mechanics. Uses and interprets technical orders (TO''s) and technical data to apply detailed technical expertise and knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action. Ensures all employees actively use T.O.s.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides guidance and performs servicing and inspections on UAS aircraft and related aerospace equipment.
Provides guidance and performs end-of-runway, post- flight, pre-flight, thru-flight and phase inspections.
Provides guidance and removes and installs UAS components.
Provides guidance and conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.
Provides guidance and adjusts, aligns and rigs UAS flight controls and other components.
Provides guidance and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement.
Provides guidance and performs UAS component inspections.
Provides guidance and inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.
Interprets inspection findings and determines appropriate corrective action.
Operates and inspects powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
Requires a thorough knowledge of aircraft structural repair and modification.
Provides guidance and performs structural repairs, inspects and identifies corrosion for prevention and repair.
Reviews and completes aircraft maintenance forms and enters data into the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), responsible to ensure all data is accurate and complete.
Provides guidance and performs aircraft launch and recovery.
Provides guidance and performs crash recovery responsibilities.
Maintains and inventories aircraft alternate mission equipment.
Performs, conducts and coordinates UAS maintenance training.
Prepares and submits material and product deficiency reports.
Ensures work areas are clean and orderly.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Outstanding attention to detail. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Team organizer and facilitator.
Eight (8) years of Aviation Maintenance experience. Equivalent to USAF 9 Skill-Level. Four (4) years of leadership and management experience.
Airframe and Power Plant FAA License or equivalent military aircraft maintenance experience. Weight and Balance Qualified and Certified. May be required to meet all typical Cross Utilization Training (CUT) qualifications to include MQ-1/9 Weapons Loading and GCS Exceptional Release.
Current Secret Security Clearance. US Citizen or proper immigration status.
Must be willing to travel overseas for extended periods of time as required by the company. Must meet company fitness for duty requirements.
