Sr. Analyst (Partners HealthCare)

Location: Charlestown, MA

Job Summary:

Perform complex analysis and research related to hospital supply chain services to determine ways to find financial value to Partners HealthCare. Responsible for making recommendations to the Strategic Sales Executive regarding potential project opportunities for value and savings across the system. Provide monthly status level reporting for goal achievement. Represent VHA/Novation portfolio and services opportunities to member(s). Interact with national/regional team to maintain current contract specific understanding and offerings. The Analyst will work in conjunction with the Materials Management & Strategic Sourcing Department of this hospital alongside other VHA employees. Responsible for analyzing current product usage and cost against member/client contracts and national data. Determine contract penetration, calculate market share and recommend areas for cost reduction through standardization, substitution and utilization through contract maximization. Perform highly complex analysis and present identified opportunities to management and the member and make recommendations for cost savings. . Provide support in the preparation of Board level analysis and recommendations


Develops and maintains relationships with customers and team members

Gathers purchase data, revenue data or any hospital specific information needed in order to conduct comprehensive cost reduction analyses

Conducts research as determined by the Strategic Sales Executive and PHS team

Conducts analyses of information to produce results and identify solutions to complex problems

Supports program utilization and growth to support territory sales and revenue goals

Provide monthly status level reporting for goals achievement.

Interprets trends, regulatory changes, and/or forecasts, and anticipates impact for members

Work with member/client to implement identified opportunities and make recommendations to management and members and provide guidance in selecting alternatives for costs savings and efficiency

Designs and creates charts, graphs, tables and reports to support findings and develop recommendations

Represent VHA/Novation and Regional programs and services opportunities to member(s).

Interact with national/regional team to maintain current contract and programmatic specific understanding and offerings.


Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, Master's a plus

3 - 5 years related experience with strong healthcare industry knowledge and understanding of contracts, negotiations and procurement

In-depth knowledge of company products and services, demonstrated analytical skills within a hospital or clinical setting (Acute and Non-Acute)

Minimum 3 + years working with and understanding supply chain operations

Comprehensive proficiency of Microsoft office applications; Excel and Access

Proficient at MS Excel - capable of developing templates and training others on the team

Ability to run “what if” scenarios using analytic tools

Access skill development added value for complex data sets

Understanding of healthcare environment, ideally, specific to the Northeast market

Previous hospital consulting, supply responsibility or healthcare sales
