Senior Analyst, Planning & Analysis - Energy Plaza

This role is responsible for supporting the Manager and Sr. Director of Mine Planning and Analysis. Key responsibilities of this role include assisting in development of the annual financial plan and projections, completing the monthly closing process and analysis, monthly reporting and other activities.

Desription & Responsibilities:
Models operational and financial assumptions for the mining business utilizing Excel
Performs scenario and sensitivity analysis at the direction of planning manager and director
Takes ownership of A&G planning, reporting and forecasting process
Work with department leads to develop budgets, identify management challenge levers and recommend saving opportunities
Ensures accuracy and quality control in capital and special projects reporting and forecasting
Assists in the development of the mine 5-year plan and monthly projections
Ensures timely and accurate monthly closing of the books
Performs journal entries, accrual review and allocations
Collaborate with cross-functional team to develop, implement and test new Hyperion capital projects planning and workforce planning tools
Provides analytical support and participates in process improvement initiatives
Interfaces with management in monthly reporting processes
Maintains high degree of methodological rigor and analysis to support effective decision-making
Acts as a professional resource within the Finance function

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, engineering or other analytical discipline Minimum 2-3 years professional services experience with a demonstrated track record of success
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to structure key issues and questions, pressure test assumptions and determine key financial drivers
Ability to develop financial models
Energetic, intellectually curious and performance driven
Able to manage multiple activities, deadlines and extended working hours during monthly close

Preferred experience:
Experience in the manufacturing industry or other competitive, industrialized company
Information systems experience, financial and operational (e.g., data mining, financials, activity-based costing etc.)
Industry knowledge in the energy sector a plus

Occasional long, irregular hours.
Use of a PC, computer terminal and/or telephone over 6 hours a day.
Frequent travel between company facilities; occasional overnight travel.
Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and/or reaching to access job-related materials.
Open workspace office environment.

Comfortable speaking in front of a large group or in a large meeting venue. Comfortable verbally explaining issues to senior management. Confident in idea exchange and contribution with peers and superiors in resolving issues.
Interpersonal Skills & Teamwork - Ability to support and engage teamwork within different groups and amongst the team, to demonstrate values and behaviors of organization values and goals.
