Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking to hire a Senior Level Botanist / Biologist / Project Manager on either a part or full-time basis. This position will preferably be based out of our San Luis Obispo office but consideration may be given for this position to be based out of any of our 5 other California offices.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum qualifications to be considered for this opportunity:
  • B.S. degree in Botany or other directly related discipline
  • 10 years (full-time equivalent) of directly related professional experience in California
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing, executing and coordinating overall project assignments
  • Demonstrated experience with conducting general field biology assessments (often in adverse weather / terrain conditions) including, but not limited to, endangered species / habitat biological assessments, resource constraints analyses, sensitive species protocol surveys, wildlife identification, botanical identification and inventories, focused area plant surveys, vegetation mapping, tree surveys (certified arborist a plus), jurisdictional delineations, including permitting per USACE, RWQCB, CDFG, and CCC Requirements, wetland mitigation and monitoring plans, open space management plans and other natural resources management plans, GPS & GIS mapping, monitoring for the environmental compliance of large and small projects, including planning, implementation, and monitoring for habitat restoration
  • Demonstrated experience with technical writing (BRAs, BAs, NESs, bio sections of CEQA/NEPA docs)
  • Demonstrated experience with coordinating and consulting with federal, state and local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects
  • Ability to work with planning managers to gather and prepare material and data for planning documents such as environmental impact reports, initial studies, and mitigated negative declarations
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of proposals, including scope and budget, for various projects within the biological resources discipline
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, supervising and mentoring staff
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) out of town (overnight stays)
