Alfred Benesch & Co., a multi-disciplined civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineering firm has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader in our Boston, MA office.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts with 5 to 10 years post-college engineering experience and have successfully passed an FHWA approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course, or refresher, within the last 5 years.
A candidate may also be a NICET certified Level III or IV Bridge Safety Inspector, have successfully passed an FHWA approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course, or refresher, within the past 5 years and have 5 years of bridge inspection experience as a team leader.
A candidate without a Professional Engineers License or NICET certification must have successfully passed an FHWA approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course, or refresher, and have at least 5 years of bridge inspection experience.
Other qualifications include physically able to perform field work around bridges, having a clean driving record. Other training in scour, stream stability, fracture critical members, and any similar areas would be a plus. Responsibilities will include project coordination and project management skills; travel within and outside Massachusetts, report preparation, load capacity rating, meeting coordination and public outreach.
Ability to lead team on bridge inspection projects.
