Senior Hyperion analyst responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, tuning and enhancing the Hyperion SDC application to ensure a stable, optimized financial planning, budgeting & reporting system. Manage multiple Finance based Hyperion technologies to support GE financial closing, planning & analysis processes. Lead ops GDC team, serve as direct liaison to functional process owners to translate requirements into detailed IT action plans & apply best practices across the environments.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead all IT operations activities related to Corporate Hyperion SDC applications including but not limited to:

Manage total GE closing & planning cycles by partnering with functional owners and leading GDC support team

Work as a Business Partner with finance leaders and users to evaluate and improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions

Provide user support, security and other ad hoc requests

Maintain and enhance SDC forms, reports load rules, batch, MaxL & calc scripts

Ensure data integrity by managing integration with development activities

Automate key processes (Cube loads and Calcs, Tie outs, etc)

Monitor application performance, availability and utilization

Schedule & manage forms, reports and scripts for automated runs

Ensure accounting structure and outline maintenance is synchronized

Manage a dynamic and demanding business client base as IT client lead for financial consolidation, closing, planning and analysis functions of finance

Serve as IT SOX owner for level 1 SOX application to ensure all SOX deliverables and audit requirements are met on time and proper procedures and controls are working as designed

Proactively drive the prioritization and resource planning of IT work to support business objectives and key initiatives for FP&A

Build strong relationships with Business & IT teams to ensure effective support operations and drive simplification of business processes

Participate in the preparation of long-range systems plans and assure that they align with business objectives and goals

Provide expertise for the design, build and support of Hyperion related initiatives to support the financial consolidation, planning and reporting processes

Drive operational activities managing expectations with functional customers (i.e. balancing their needs with wants and educate as appropriate)

Identify major areas of improvement and drive results ensuring they are on time and to appropriate quality standards

Translate high-level business requirements into detailed IT action plans

Ensure compliance to system architecture, methods, standards, practices and participate in their creation

Develop peer, cross-functional and cross-GE Business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness

Keep abreast with the new tools and technologies as well as other advancements made in the Fusion, EPM and BI spaces including pre-packaged applications

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline plus a minimum 7 years of hands-on IT work experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with Hyperion System 9 and / or 11 level experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with system analysis, design and modeling

Desired Characteristics

Strong knowledge of financial systems, financial cycles and processes

Experience with complex, multi-tiered Hyperion Planning deployments

Skilled with logical cube design and physical deployment of cubes

Well versed in cube optimization techniques to maximize performance and minimize memory requirements

Knowledge of other Financial Systems (I.e. Oracle Financials, OBIEE, ODI, DRM, etc.)

Proven experience in onshore and offshore team management

Sarbanes Oxley experience desired

E xperience / knowledge with Classic and EPMA deployments

Experience / knowledge with working with and in SmartView

Experience / knowledge with Data Relationship Manager (DRM) and Financial Data Quality Manager (FDM)

Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization

Self-starter, requires minimal direction to accomplish goals

Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities.
