Atkins is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a P.E. license and 10-15 years experience for our office in Miami, Florida.
The typical duties in this role include:
Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
Performs preliminary engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters.
Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.
Prepares or oversees the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval.
Conducts or oversees personnel involved in engineering investigations and planning work.
Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
Plans, schedules and conducts or coordinates construction services on projects of moderate scope.
May occasionally assist in the management of projects.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering plus 10-15 years relevant industry experience (5 after obtaining PE license).
P.E. license is required.
Good technical writing and the ability to assemble and analyze data is required.
The ability to process paper/electronic documents is needed as well as the ability to plan and prioritize project tasks.
Experience in the South Florida market is required.
Experience working on large, complex site design projects is required, as is experience with permitting (RER, SFWMD, Miami Dade and Broward County). Familiarity with local permitting agencies is preferred.
A working knowledge of Civil 3D, Land Desktop Development, StormCAD, and ICPR is required.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software is required (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
The ability to communicate and present information clearly both orally and in writing is required.
Analytical ability; proactive attitude; ability to innovate and improvise are highly desired.
Demonstrated experience building client relationships is required.
Good interpersonal skills; basic public speaking and project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency.
