Senior Development Director (Social Markets) – American Heart Association, Puget Sound Division

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Development Director in our Puget Sound Division in Seattle.

The Senior Director is responsible for leading a team of dedicated staff and high profile volunteers to achieve a fundraising goal of $890,000 net through our Social Market events of Heart Ball and Go Red For Women Luncheons both in Seattle and Tacoma.

Integrated with revenue generation, the Senior Director is responsible for identifying, recruiting and managing strong, high level volunteer leadership , identifying and closing large corporate sponsorships and patron gifts , and managing a high performing staff team. The Senior Director will also provide leadership in the collaboration of other strategic goals of the American Heart Association.

Qualified applicants will have an authentic passion for the mission of the American Heart Association and an intrinsic drive to sell it. Other qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

3 - 5 years successful fund raising experience with the American Heart Association or a similar nonprofit, or 5+ years successful experience in marketing, outside sales or new business development. Preference with experience in the Puget Sound market.

Successful staff management experience

Proven track record in recruitment, training and management of high level corporate and patron volunteers

Self-Starter able to work well in a team driven environment

Highly effective organizational, communication (oral and written), negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to thrive in a culture of accountability

Willing and able to travel regularly within the assigned territory and work evenings/weekends as needed
