The Senior Supply Assurance Engineer is an important role in the Global Sourcing team’s initiatives in Supply Risk Management. This position is responsible for providing improved visibility to AWP’s supply chain, and developing tools and methods to understand and reduce current and potential risks related to quality, cost, and continuity of supply. The position is also focused on improvements in the supply chain based on identified operational and management system deficiencies.
Essential Functions (Listed in order of priority and time allocation):
Developing, facilitating, and leading activities focused on risk reduction within the AWP supply chain, including: Conducting supplier assessments, developing supply chain risk profiles, identifying opportunities for supplier improvements based on analysis of supplier management systems and performance data, and on-site supplier development efforts as deemed necessary; Conducting audits of and directly supporting the part qualification process (PQP) at Terex/AWP manufacturing sites; Auditing, teaching, and reinforcing use and communication of supply assurance tools and data across the entire Terex/AWP supply chain, at Terex/AWP and supplier manufacturing sites; Ensuring accuracy of Supply Chain risk reporting; Developing suppliers’ technical processes using AWP and industry standards, developing technical audits; Identifying best practices in managing contingencies; and, Creating training modules and improvement plans.
BS Degree in Engineering and 6 years related experience or Master’s degree (Engineering / Business) and 4+ years related experience Aptitude for data analysis and statistical inference Experience with ISO, quality management systems, product/process development and qualification Experience in Supplier Quality within Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Ability to successfully manage multiple projects Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and benefits to manufacturers and suppliers Experience with FMEA, control plans, problem solving methods, AQP, PQP/PPAP and other quality tools Knowledge of heavy equipment and manufacturing processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in MS Office Demonstrated team player Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvements Actively seeks out and learns new quality skills
