Senior Engineer - Telecommunications Systems
Telecommunications Systems Engineer to fill technical engineering roles in support of design, analysis, test and operation of spacecraft telecommunications systems for commercial, DoD and NASA customers.
What you'll do:
You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of spacecraft telecommunications systems including:
Help develop and document the telecommunications system requirements Develop telecommunications system concepts and architecture which meet these requirements Conduct telecommunications system sizing and performance analysis and document the results in system engineering reports Lead a multi-discipline team to develop the telecommunications system detailed designs including the development of performance specifications, statements of work, and detailed design drawings Manage subcontracts for procured telecommunications system components Support writing detailed telecommunications system test procedures and telecommunications system integration and test effort Document the of telecommunications system testing in detailed test reports and support sell-off to the customer Support launch and operations Support new business activities
What you need:
BS in Engineering or a related technical field plus 8 or more years experience is required. Minimum of 8 years direct experience in spacecraft Telecommunications Subsystem Engineering with a solid understanding of all aspects of Telecommunications system architectures – hardware including transponders, transceivers, transmitters, receivers, antennas, RF components, modulation techniques, link analysis tools, systems interface, and fault protection is highly desired Experience with defining, developing and delivering space qualified hardware. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills are highly desired Effective in small team work environment with broad responsibilities with minimal oversight. Capable of performing telecommunications system sizing and performance analysis, including ground-to-spacecraft/spacecraft-to-ground and TDRS analysis Experience with telecommunication link analysis tools is highly desirable. Experience with RF & circuit design and analysis is highly desirable. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered Each higher level degree, Masters, etc. may substitute for two years of experience Two years of experience may be substituted for each year of education. Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
This position requires a current favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Some positions will require completion of a polygraph examination. * U.S. Citizenship Required.
