This position reports directly to the Chief of Engineering Product Data Compliance .

The Engineering Export/Import Compliance (EEIC) Technical Administrator works across multiple organizations, including operations, sales operations, support, engineering and product management.

This position:
Is responsible for classifying all Bell Helicopter products and technologies, documenting the classification analysis, and responding to ad hoc export compliance issues.

Applies knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations to accurately perform classification assessments.

Is accountable for ensuring the highest level of accuracy is achieved and maintained with regard to export classifications. Classifications are based on engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and other available technical source materials.

Must maintain good working relationships and actively cooperate with internal and external customers, business partners, outside consultants and applicable government agencies.

Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with the various Bell Business Units to support the process of determining configurations and other technical information required to arrive at the accurate classification.



High school diploma or equivalent

Associates degree or higher in a technical fieldpreferred

Minimum Requirements


At least two years related experience


Demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills


Strong attention to detail


Ability to understand technical and regulatory concepts and the ability to communicate those concepts in a professional manner to all levels within the Company.


Posses the initiative to undertake additional responsibilities


Awareness of and interest in keeping informed of on-going changes affecting U.S. export laws and regulations.


Excellent organizational skills.


Ability to thrive in a team environment.


Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.



At least two years experience in an export compliance role


Experience classifying items under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)


Experience in international trade compliance


Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, CATIA, BEDVUe, SharePoint, and ENOVIA preferred.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)., Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. , The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
