OSD provides information services such as Bing Search and the MSN portals and channels around the world and builds Advertising Platforms for monetizing online properties. OSD executes its strategy through ongoing product and brand development, partnerships and acquisitions.

We are seeking a Sr. Finance Manager to play a key role on the MSN and AppEx R&D leadership teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work with MSN, one of the largest portals in the world that reaches over 500 Million users in 44 markets. MSN is a profitable business with over 1B$ in revenue, a strategic asset to Bing driving a significant amount of search queries, and is a strategic asset to Windows by being a major source for world-wide content. MSN provides one of the best places in the company to learn how to build and operate a high scale online service. The role will also support AppEx. Our Bing Application Experiences (AppEx) team is an exciting new group formed within OSD to build consumer applications for the modern generation of devices such as tablets, smartphones, and gaming platforms.

Core to this position is driving the overall financial rhythm & controllership, and management of a large annual operating budget. You will also play a key role as part of the OSD R&D Finance team by coordinating the OSD wide R&D Close and Forecast activities for the R&D Finance team. You will be comfortable in a wide range of settings, from presenting to senior leaders, to holding the business accountable to financial commitments, to coaching financial fundamentals to non-finance audience. This position will require a combination of strong organization, prioritization and communication skills, in addition to the ability to understand and tie into the strategy of OSD.

Core Job Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Financial Controllership - Serve as a single point of contact to your R&D business partners. Proactively engage with business partners and finance teams on all controllership issues (Close, Monthly Business Reviews, Restatements, Trend analysis, Budget, Forecast, as well as ad-hoc decision support). Provide valued business insight that helps decision makers more effectively manage their business for higher return. Budgeting & Forecasting - Work with key stakeholders to create accurate forecasts. Incorporate P&L insight into the forecasting process and identify cost efficacy opportunities. Review and gain sign off for quarterly forecasts from management & business partners.
Financial Modeling & Decision Support - Assist cross-functional teams to evaluate and/or perform financial analysis of potential new business, cost savings & scenario modeling opportunities. Offer financial guidance and support of this process through an in depth understanding of business fundamentals, competitive landscape, and implications on current strategy.

Maturity to business partner and assume the role of trusted advisor.
Excellent handle on the fundamentals of controllership.
Willingness and capability to obtain depth of knowledge in Microsoft’s Digital Online Businesses.

Skills/ Requirements:
5-10 years of demonstrated Finance work experience
BS/BA degree with considerable work experience; MBA and/or related high tech industry experience preferred
Strong Competency in Microsoft systems, tools and financial structure a plus
Strong “room presence” and group presentation skills
Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and verbally
Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills are a must
