The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, professional with a proven ability to partner with key stakeholders, develop and implement solutions to business requirements in an effective and efficient manner. The ideal candidate has prior planning / reporting or business analysis roles Document current processes/procedures, controls, and reports that will assist with the development and implementation of a DE wide Shared Service Opex Planning and Reporting function serving DE Finance and key LoB, Corporate and Shared Service stakeholders Assist with the annual OPEX planning, latest estimate and reporting requirements of the business Assist, in conjunction with key stakeholders, the development of standards for allocations reporting and related items including the development of new value add benchmarks, reporting and planning processes while balancing both efficiency with business needs and available resources. Assist, in conjunction with key stakeholders, process improvements by liaising with business partners to optimize and enhance the OPEX planning, reporting and forecasting capabilities of Direct Energy, and ensuring the accuracy of the same in SAP; ensures consistency with Direct Energy strategic objectives Assist with the production, monitoring and reporting of key performance measures to identify risk and opportunities Correlate results with business drivers to articulate the business story Performs ad-hoc analysis as requested including variance analyses .
Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years in a financial analysis role focusing on planning, budgeting and expense management
Documented experience dealing with business partners as “budget owners” and acting as their financial subject matter expert
Basic Accounting knowledge is required; i.e. experienced with creating, monitoring and interpreting Accruals for mid-large size companies
Comfortable with MS Excel and have proven experience using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s to drive business decisions
Fundamentally curious about how the enterprise generates Revenue and manages Expenses to deliver Profit
Have worked and/led cross-functional teams in delivering Business-wide initiatives
Experienced with SAP’s Financial Suite is highly desirable, but not required. However, the ideal candidate should have proven experience working with ERP Financial system solutions (Hyperion, HFM, EssBase, OutlookSoft, etc…)
MBA and/or CPA is encouraged, but not required
Proven historical track record of mobility (promotional) within prior organizations
Ability to communicate complex Financial/Accounting terminology to non-financial executives effectively
Desire to succeed
Able to work and deal with ambiguity in highly fast-paced environments
