Work Schedule: 3:00pm to 11:00pm (Second Shift)
Performs journeyman level mechanical work. Performs diagnostics and completes complicated major repairs that require significant mechanical knowledge and skill. Vehicles are mainly diesel and will include medium to large trucks and off-road construction equipment.
Examples of Duties:
Completes preventice maintenance services and tune-ups; prepares new vehicles for service; repairs air conditioning systems, complicated brake systems such as ainti-lock brakes, and other major repair tasks.
Two years experience in the repair of automotive equipment, completion of 10 training courses in automotive repair from a community college, vocational school, or automotive dealer/retailer. Four ASE certificates required to be obtained within two years of employment, CDL required or ability to obtain within 12 months. Must have complete set of hand tools.
High school diploma/GED strongly preferred, additional ASE certificates preferred, additional formal training preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ( Reasonable accommodations may substitute for physical requirements listed): Must be able to lift or move up to 100 lbs. and maneuver up to 1 mile; must be able to crawl, climb, operate medium equipment and work with large and small objects; must possess good communications skills and functionally normal hearing. This position will work both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to cold, heat, changing weather, adverse smells and sights, loud sounds and long periods of standing.
