SUMMARY

Working independently, the Senior Game Developer designs and implements web games working with management to define portfolio strategy. The Senior Game Developer is an individual contributor in multiple disciplines, including design, programming, and in some cases, art and sound creation. He or she may also collaborate with other artists and engineers depending on the scale of the project. The desired business objective for this role is to create a portfolio of hit games for web and/or mobile, which attracts a larger audience to the Kongregate platform and that helps the GameStop/Kongregate organization achieve its overall business objectives. Associate will interact with his or her supervisor as needed by either. Most activities are completed without a supervisor’s advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Lead the development of original web games

Work with executive team to define portfolio strategy for games

Serve as the principal product development thought leader.

Lead projects from concept through implementation and post-launch iterative optimization.

B ASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree from an accredited business or IT-related program preferred

At least 8 years of relevant work experience required, including seven or more years of experience as a game developer

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

Expert understanding of game development

Expert understanding of consumer-facing gaming trends

Expert ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization

Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members

Proficient ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
