We are currently seeking an energetic and innovative Senior HR Generalist/ Recruiter who has the drive to help build a growing company and has the intuitive skills to put the right person in the right position. Candidates should have a passion for HR and have outstanding organizational and communication skills.
This position will support the Northbrook HR shared services through full cycle recruitment and partnering with one or more corporate functions, business units or divisions as their primary HR contact. This person will be part of the Northbrook HR team, which is the global headquarter office for UL. This individual contributor will be a go-to recruiting expert and will perform full life-cycle recruitment including client engagement, strategy development, sourcing, screening, offer negotiation and onboarding.
Conducts research on HR policies and procedures and prepares recommendations for implementation.
Communicates with management and employees regarding Human Resources issues, and explains and interprets personnel policies, procedures, and processes, as directed.
Work with hiring managers to define job requirements and develop knowledge of internal customer groups to effectively target recruitment efforts in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Develop tailored recruitment strategies that address the specific needs of each position and utilize creative sourcing techniques to find and attract top talent.
Proactively build candidate pipelines to fill current and anticipated vacancies based on knowledge of the best sourcing channels for different candidate segments.
Oversees the selection process including identifying and assessing candidates, conducting pre-screens, facilitating interviews and gathering candidate and management feedback.
Partners with compensation to develop offer recommendations, and extends candidate offers and negotiates to successful closure.
Maintain candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System.
Participates on Talent Acquisition projects and/or broader organizational initiatives as assigned.
Communicates with management and employees regarding Human Resources issues. Explains and interprets personnel policies, procedures, and processes, as directed.
Works closely with management to ensure a positive employee relations environment. Listens to employee problems and may provide feedback to functional managers.
Stay up-to-date on the latest recruiting industry trends and tools and share best practices with the local HR team as well as the broader UL HR team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
University Degree (Bachelor's degree) in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration or related field, with a minimum of 6 years of full life cycle recruiting experience.
Proven ability to identify and recruit talent in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated success utilizing LinkedIn and other social networks to proactively source candidates.
Ability to stay organized while juggling multiple pressing priorities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience building relationships with employees at all levels of an organization.
Must be a team player with a “do whatever it takes” attitude and willingness to pitch in on non-recruiting related HR initiatives.
Detailed knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and processes and detailed knowledge of human resource concepts and practices necessary in the Generalist position.
Detailed knowledge of fundamental concepts of all functional areas of human resources.
Previous agency recruiting experience is a plus.
