Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation (BMPC) is seeking a courageous and influential Senior Level HR Leader to join our executive team and to lead the transformation of the HR Function for our multi-site company of 6,000 engineers, scientists and technical professionals. BMPC is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA and Schenectady, NY with employees in South Carolina, Idaho and shipyards and vendor sites throughout the United States. Operated for the US Department of Engery, BMPC is dedicated solely to the support of the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Our business is the design and development of advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, technical support of our nation's naval nuclear reactors and training of the sailors who operate those reactors in the Navy's submarine and aircraft carrier fleets.
The successful candidate for BMPC Subdivision HR Manager will lead a team of 100 HR professionals to develop and execute human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company, including talent acquisition, management and development, organization and performance management, benefits, training and development, compensation and labor relations. BMPC is looking for an experienced HR Leader who will identify creative solutions, drive high standards for individual, team, and organization accomplishment; and work tenaciously to meet or exceed challenging goals.
The successful candidate will be a member of an executive team with a demonstrated track record of aligning human resources initiatives and business objectives, identifying and creating solutions to critical organizational human capital challenges, using strategic influence to support business objectives, and driving post-merger cultural alignment and change initiatives.
The successful candidate will initially lead site HR Operations as the Site HR Manager for the Kesselring Site in West Milton NY, providing full breadth of site leadership and a staff of 4+ employees.
Travel required- 50%
- BS/BA (Business, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organization Development or a related degree preferred). At least 10 years of progressive HR experience and 15 years of "high-level" Management experience.
Knowledge of State and Federal employment regulations. Demonstrated multi-functional HR expertise. Prior experience as a Chief HR Officer/Vice President/Senior Director. Current security clearance (DOD, DOE or related). Excellent communication abilities. Demonstrated ability to think critically, use sound judgement, resolve conflicts and to solve problems.

Bettis Laboratory and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory are operated for the Department of Energy by Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation. The Bettis and KAPL Laboratories, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Niskayuna, New York, respectively, develop naval nuclear propulsion systems. Our team of over 6,000 people design the world’s most technologically advanced reactor plants and systems, and we support the U.S. fleet of nuclear-powered ships. The Laboratories train enlisted and officer propulsion plant operators at the Charleston, SC and West Milton, NY facilities and operate a one-of-a-kind reactor core examination facility in Idaho Falls, ID.
