: Serves as a dedicated team member who has the primary responsibility to support their self-organizing, self-managing team successfully achieve their daily, iteration, and release goals and delivery objectives.
: Influences the team to effectively apply, implement and enforce Scrum principles and practices, facilitating continuous improvement, and identifying and removing team impediments.
: Will help protect the team from outside influences, which could otherwise interfere with the team's ability to deliver value in a short time-box (iteration).
: Will mentor and assist the team in its transition to the new method, and continuously facilitate a team dynamic intended to maximize team performance.
Additional Responsibilities include:
: Uses agile estimation techniques to help the team and program estimate features, epics, and user stories.
: Ensures that daily stand-up meetings take place.
: Facilitates review sessions intended to prioritize tasks and mitigate road blocks.
: Facilitates sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos.
: Assists the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed.
: Ensures cross-team coordination.
: Reaches out to the larger organization for impediment removal.
: Encourages transparency and associated metrics.
: Maintains relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing.
: Liaises between Developers and User Experience/Visual Designers to foster better communication between the disciplines.
: Ensures that project status, issues and successes are documented appropriately and communicated to project team, stakeholders, sponsors, steering committee and all levels of management.
: Acts as a project manager when necessary. Take responsibility for managing dependencies between assigned team and third parties or between assigned team and other scrum or traditional development and/or infrastructure teams.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
: At least 3 years experience working in an agile environment, preferably in a variety of situation.
: Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
: Familiarity with common Agile practices and service-oriented environments.
: Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
: Certified scrum master/scrum practitioner.
: Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
: Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
: Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development.
: Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
: Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form.
: Familiarity with user acceptance testing and principles.
: Familiarity with automated testing practices and principles.
: Has an ability to understand people and systems, and an ability to know what questions to ask to guide someone through solving a problem (without knowing the subject matter).
