If so, this position maybe for you! The Personal Insurance Finance division ($12b SBU) is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Controls and Operational Risk. This is a newly created position that will work closely with a Vice President to help develop a risk and internal controls framework to support a newly formed Third Party Relationship team. This team will provide financial oversight and monitor third party agreements. Additionally, this position will work collaboratively with other business units/departments to develop action plans to support specific business objectives as well as, develop financial forecasts to support overall SBU objectives.
      Responsibilities:
      • Responsible for following enterprise risk management and compliance procedures. Follows risk management and quality compliance processes to include quality control compliance (i.e. OFAC, attestation). Follows safeguards to protect company assets and ensure compliance with Corporate and Company procedures. Monitors daily operations of unit to ensure compliance with monthly deadlines and set controls.
      • Identifies and evaluates opportunities to improve process, controls, and information systems. Develops cost/benefit analysis in support of recommendations and ensures it aligns with changing business needs. Ensures changes are implemented as needed.
      • Responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining efficient, cost effective, processes, controls and data management including how departments interact. This includes establishing direction of long term objectives.
      • Lead development of standard and exception approval processing for entering into new third party relationships.
      • Partner with functional groups to provide on-going monitoring of third party relationships.
      • Manages complex standard and ad hoc reports and analyzes and reports on financial and/or operational results/analysis.
      • Proactively identifies, participates in, or manages cross functional/departmental projects. Defines project scope and prioritizes resource commitments. Monitors projects while challenging and developing staff. Communicates project opportunities of high complexity and constraints to Senior Management. Appropriately holds staff accountable for project deadlines.
      • Responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining efficient, cost effective, processes, controls and data management including how departments interact. This includes establishing direction of long term objectives.
      • Coaches, develops, and motivates direct reports. Evaluates performance and provides feedback for growth improvements. Defines individual objectives and development plans, and ensures alignment with project and unit objectives.
      • May provide direct support to Department Head in making strategic recommendations and decisions.
      Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting preferred) or equivalent experience. Advanced degree or CPA preferred.
      • A minimum of 10 years of internal controls experience, along with experience at leading financial analysis projects preferred. Demonstrated leadership and management skills- a minimum of four years of managing staff.
      • Must have a solid understanding of accounting knowledge/skills.
      • Experience initiating and leading projects and demonstrated ability to work with senior managers and key stakeholders in SBU/Corporate Departments.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
      • Insurance experience preferred.
