The Senior Manufacturing / Quality & Test Engineer will be responsible for the technical management of Clustrix’s contract manufacturing partners. The impact of this role will be the development and implementation of efficient manufacturing, quality and test processes that will ensure the highest quality products are delivered to Clustrix’s customers.
Integration of new hardware and software product releases into the contract manufacturers for delivery to customers.
Development of manufacturing processes that balance efficient cycle times with the production of high quality products.
Development of quality inspection processes and root cause analysis/corrective action to resolve quality issues.
Closely work with the product development team to understand the functioning of the appliance and software products; be able to troubleshoot product performance issues that emerge during manufacturing test and quality processes.
Train the contract manufacturing partner to successfully build, test, and troubleshoot product and software issues.
Closely work with the customer service team to investigate quality/performance issues that occur at customer installations that are related to manufacturing issues; develop corrective actions to resolve customer issues.
Develop and implement test and quality processes to monitor the quality of critical components; manage component suppliers for the resolution of quality issues, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Monitor all aspects of production and test capacity; make recommendations and implement actions required to insure ongoing adequate production and test capacity to meet growth requirements.
Project planning and management to ensure that NPI and other project schedules are completed on time.
Hands-on understanding of electronics appliance design and functionality.
Extensive experience in working in an outsourced manufacturing environment or direct experience in working at a contract manufacturing company.
In depth knowledge of quality and test processes, critical metrics, and the ability to develop and implement meaningful KPI’s.
Excellent communications and training skills.
The ability to work well cross-functionally and form strong working relationships with the development and customer service teams.
Basic business analysis skills – quote comparisons, ROI, etc.
Ability to develop and implement effective data management and reporting tools.
High level of skill in MS Excel, various product management data bases (e.g. Arena/Agile).
Experience with formalized root cause and corrective techniques (e.g. 8D).
Familiarity with development and implementation of EVT/DVT/PVT processes.
Skilled and performing FMEA/P-FMEA and taking to appropriate actions to mitigate potential areas of concern.
Must be comfortable in a start-up company environment (little clerical support); but able to grow scope of position as company grows.
Prior team leadership/management experience.
Capable of staying calm under pressure.
Able to utilize data to support ideas and position.
Able to lead and participate in technical discussions.
Able to work extended hours during quarter close or to support critical customer needs/deliveries.
Able to travel as needed, in the US and internationally.
BS/MS EE or other technical degree
10 years' applicable experience
